I'm Starting a New Day at Home

It is Tuesday morning and I've had the Home Care Nurse stop by and dress my ankle ulcer and had my breakfast. It's almost my nap time, hm-m. I was up at 5:15 AM, to get my Diabetes chores out of the way, (glucose was 148 this morning and have given myself the 8 units of insulin shot). Upon my departure yesterday from Canon Lodge after our noon lunch, I was thrilled to have Allen Stecklein stop in. He goes by "The Whistlin' Cowboy". He recently was invited to appear with 'America Has Talent' or such a TV program. He is good!
It is good to be home. It did not take long for me to feel NORMAL again. What a Blessing. Still a little slow getting around, slow but sure, one step at a time. Not able to do a JIG yet, but I feel great and am happy. The people at Canon Lodge were wonderful. One on One care and encouragement kept my spirits high. I am in better health today than I was before I encounterd the broken leg. I learn a lot about the human body and physiology. When you get my age (87) it pays to learn the workings of your body. It requires proper maintenance just as any working machine. Again, thanks to all of you for your greeting cards, letters, and prayers. I could not have recovered without your help. Stay in Touch. Talk to you later, bye!

Ernie - Glad to see you're home and have completed yet another "journey". I'm sure it felt good to sit it your own chair! Keep feeling good!

Best Wishes,

Ernie, it's good to see that you are well enough to be back in your home and eating at your own table. And it's especially good to see that you are writing again. Keep those posts coming!
